The SIP Proxy

The SIP proxy used by Star2Billing is OpenSIPS, and is used for two functions, to assist with  NAT traversal, which is inherent in the SIP protocol when SIP endpoints are behind a NAT device, and to load balance across multiple Asterisk servers making for a system that can scale to hundreds or even thousands of concurrent calls.

Once installed, there is little or no admin of the SIP Proxy, it is integrated seamlessly into A2Billing.

The costs of installing the SIP proxy as an addon to an existing A2Billing installation will vary depending on the scale of the system, however it is included as standard with the Residential System.
